4th of July Party Planning

I finally get to host a 4th of July Party! It’s one of my favorite holidays and I can’t wait to host! The kids and I took some time last week to prep by trying out some of our favorite ideas we found on Pinterest. Luckily I also hosted a leadership retreat for my leadership team and was able to bring all the treats to share with them! Below I have the links to some of our favorite recipes we tried together as a family and some ideas for decorating!

4th of July Foods!

4th of July Caprese Salad

This is such a cute twist on a Caprese salad. It’s an easy salad consisting of tomatoes, blueberries, mozzarella, basil, Italian vinaigrette, and olive oil. My daughter cut fresh mozzarella into stars for the 4th of July effect! I found this recipe on Freutcake website.

Patriotic Popcorn

Two Sister’s Crafting had a recipe for Patriotic Popcorn. This one is a little more putsy and takes a bit more time. However, it was a big hit with the kids! Popcorn with melted marshmallow and red, white and blue candies. We used M&Ms and Skittles.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies? I personally love making a pan of bars instead of individual cookies. In addition to the chocolate chips, we added red, white, and blue caramel M&Ms! Delicious! There is a great recipe on Five Heart Home worth checking out!

Stars and Stripes Brownies

The kids love making brownies! Just add some frosting and decorate with red, white, and blue candies or sprinkles. We used both M&Ms and Skittles!

Ice Cream Candy Cones

This one I think is just so cute and is so simple! Simply buy some ice cream cones and fill them with candy! I put them all in a cute basket. To get them to stand up I cut out the bottoms of an egg carton! Simple and cute! However, I forgot to take a picture so here is an example from Dinner at the Zoo.

Decorating

We did not practice this yet, but here is what we are planning on!

Spray paint lawn stars. A friend of mine did this last year and it was SO CUTE! You simply take some cardboard and cut out stars. Then you put it on your lawn and spray paint the area. When you are done your lawn is decorated in red, white, and blue stars! You can find the tutorial here from the Concrete Cottage.

4th of July Fingernails

My daughter and I have not decided which one we will try yet, but we were looking at this link from Fine Craft Guild to find a cute pattern for our nails.

We are still brainstorming more foods and ideas but these are for sure on our list! What do you create to celebrate the 4th of July?
